Much like all of folklore, passed down time and time again, Truths and Roses gets more and more twisted with each passing listen. Utilizing the sounds of the Louisiana swamp, the bluesy slide guitar, dry acoustic, piercing violin, and a driving rhythmic section, Truths and Roses sets out to display miniature horror stories along the Bayou. The sweeping and haunting melody lines tell the stories whispered about in the cursed town: the birth of witchcraft along a lake, a viscous seductress always brushing her hair in the window, a river witch stealing bits of hairs and hearts, a furious and frenzied being lurking within the woods, a garden tended by the Devil, and a lone traveler down on their luck, passing through.

Inspired by the eerie doom rock of Chelsea Wolfe, the heart wrenching blues of Mississippi Fred McDowell, the whimsical and unearthly folk songs of Karen Elson, and the energy of Fleetwood Mac, Truths and Roses attempts to incorporate the rawness, deviancy, and joy of folk music in each note played.
